How to Get a Rich Snippet
1. Add Schema.org markup
Example for a product:
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Product",
"name": "SEO-аудит Pro",
"description": "Комплексная проверка сайта",
"offers": {
"@type": "Offer",
"price": "1500",
"priceCurrency": "RUB",
"availability": "https://schema.org/InStock"
},
"aggregateRating": {
"@type": "AggregateRating",
"ratingValue": "4.8",
"reviewCount": "253"
}
}
</script>2. Check the markup
- Google Rich Results Test:
search.google.com/test/rich-results - Schema Markup Validator:
validator.schema.org - Google Search Console → Rich results
3. Follow Google's guidelines
Rich results are an opportunity, not a guarantee. Google decides whether to show them. Requirements:
- The markup must match the page's visible content
- No fake ratings (“self-awarded stars”)
- The page must be indexed
Rich Snippet vs. Featured Snippet
| Aspect | Rich Snippet | Featured Snippet |
|---|---|---|
| Requires markup | Yes (Schema.org) | No |
| Position | Regular position | Position 0 (above the top results) |
| Data | Structured | Text from the page |
| Control | Partial | No direct control |

FAQ
Is a rich snippet guaranteed if the markup is correct? No. Google shows rich results at its discretion. Correct markup is necessary, but not sufficient. The page must also be authoritative and relevant to the query.
Do ratings in rich snippets affect rankings? Not directly. However, rich snippets with high ratings increase CTR, which may indirectly improve rankings through behavioral factors.
Can Schema.org markup be added to any page? Yes, but the markup must match the content. Do not add Product markup to informational articles or Review markup without real reviews—this violates Google's policies.
