For Russian text: 200 words per minute; for English: 250 words per minute. You can set the speed from 100 to 400 words per minute depending on the material’s complexity and audience.

Reading time helps you plan content: social media posts should be short, while articles should be structured. Readers check “how long it’ll take” before they start. Include the reading time in article previews.

Words are sequences of characters separated by spaces. Punctuation marks are not counted. Accuracy depends on the language and text format.

The tool estimates reading time for different formats: a Twitter post (short text), a blog post (medium-length article), and a longread (long-form content). Use it to estimate content length.

Word and character counts work for any text. Reading speed is set by default for Russian and English. For other languages, adjust the speed manually.
