Analysis of PEM files: certificates, keys, CSR
File information
What is PEM?
PEM (Privacy Enhanced Mail) is a format for storing cryptographic data in Base64 with BEGIN/END headers. Used for X.509 certificates, RSA/EC private and public keys, and CSR requests.
PEM Viewer analyzes PEM files right in your browser. It identifies the type (certificate, key, or CSR) and shows the file size, Base64 contents, and HEX dump. All data is processed locally—nothing is sent to a server.
Detecting PEM type: Certificate, Private Key, Public Key, CSR
Display size in bytes and Base64 characters
HEX dump of the first 256 bytes
Warning when pasting private keys
Fully local processing — data never leaves your browser
Support for all standard PEM types
PEM (Privacy Enhanced Mail) is a format for storing cryptographic data. The data is Base64-encoded and wrapped in -----BEGIN TYPE----- and -----END TYPE----- headers. Used for SSL certificates, keys, and CSRs.
